Idy Vandepas
Founder; Artistic Director & Choreographer
For nearly a decade, Idy Vandepas has been a proud Dance teacher and Choreographer. She has produced many Dance and Musical productions and has impacted the lives of countless students of all ages. It wasn't until the summer of 2021 that she decided she wanted to do something more. She felt inspired to form a dance film company called The Âme Project so as to preserve her vision on film and to share it with a wider audience. Her first film, Headway, was a deeply personal film that dealt with depression and trying to "get out of the woods". It was shown at multiple Dance film festivals and viewed by many. Since then, she’s directed and choreographed numerous other films, each of which hold a special place in her heart She's eager to continue on this journey and is looking forward to creating even more thought-provoking works. She would like to thank all of her Âme company members and her husband for sharing her vision and for all their love, support, and dedication to creating something timeless and beautiful.
Christian Vandepas
Co-founder; Videographer, Photographer & Editor
Since it's inception, Christian has been the videographer and photographer for The Âme Project, where his journey behind the camera first began. What started as a passion sparked through Âme quickly grew into a deep love for visual storytelling, and he is incredibly grateful to the company for giving him the opportunity to learn, explore, and develop this craft. His first film, Hindsight, marked the beginning of that journey—and he has not looked back since. Since then, he has captured more than 20 films. Working alongside such inspiring artists continues to push him creatively and is especially thankful to his wife, Idy, whose vision and trust have been at the heart of it all. He is equally grateful to our company members, whose talent and dedication make it possible for him to do what he loves. This company brings stories to life through movement and film, and he is honored to play a part in that process.
