I have been dancing for ten years and has received my dance training in various local dance studios and currently at Dancing Plus. I’ve also received dance training from my school Somerset Arts Conservatory and another big part of my training is from countless conventions, workshops, and master classes I have attended over the years. I currently attend Somerset Arts Conservatory, and I’m in the process of applying for colleges with a focus in dance and choreography. My first most noteworthy dance credit would have to be assisting conventions. I was honored to be one of the teen Intrigue dance assistants for the year 2019-2020. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and was a dream come true! Getting to work and learn alongside some of the most inspiring and genuine artists and doing that with the most kindhearted fellow assistants, will forever hold a special place in my heart. And in the most recent year I assisted Force Dance Tour and will be continuing to do so next year! Another noteworthy dance credit would be when I won Soul Studios choreography challenge! This opportunity allowed me to share my choreography online, by teaching my very own zoom class! And lastly when I had the opportunity to teach for an Intrigue virtual dance convention. Being able to teach talented people around the world was such a surreal moment for me. I am forever grateful for these opportunities given to me! There are countless amounts of things that inspire me about the art of dance, but what I think inspires me most about the art form would have to be the way you can express everything you feel with just the movement of your body. Dance allows you to be so vulnerable without even speaking. I personally struggle with that, so dance is my way of expression. I feel my best and most self while dancing, the feeling is indescribable. The dancer I am today has been shaped by many inspirations. I started attending Intrigue for the first time when I was 8, and since then it has been a big part of my life. Many of my inspirations have come from there! Then later on I met the wonderful Mrs. Idy. I can go on and on about her, but to keep it short she has taught me not only how to become a great dancer, but how to become a great person. She has taught me discipline, respect, heart, passion, what hard work truly means and so much more. She pushes me to be the best version of myself everyday. She has been there every step of the way and I wouldn’t be the person and dancer I am today without her. I owe her the biggest thank you! My biggest and future goal as a dancer is to simply be an inspiration to others. I hope to be someone to look up to not only as a dancer, but as a human. Someday I hope to choreograph, maybe even direct my very own company! I decided to join the Âme Project because I love and believe what the company stands for. I know the directors very well and they have some of the biggest hearts and most beautiful souls out there. To just be a part of this company is a huge honor. I hope to accomplish more growth in myself in all ways being a part of the Âme Project. Dance does consume most of my life, but when I am not dancing, I love drawing, arts and crafts, reading, and being with my family! There are so many people to thank for my journey thus far, but my biggest thank you would be to my mom. She is always there for me when I fall to pick me back up. She believes in me with all her heart and pushes me beyond my limits. She provides me opportunities and wisdom like no other, and I never take her love and care for granted! Thank you, mom!
